Every Can Counts supported the Limerick TLC event 25th March in Murroe village.
The major clean-up TLC2 took place on Good Friday, 25th March 2016 when volunteers were encouraged to come out once again in force to clean up in their local areas throughout the city and county.
Team Limerick Clean-Up2 (TLC2), is an initiative sponsored by the JP McManus Benevolent Fund and administered by Limerick City and County Council. Endorsed by Paul O’Connell, the official partners include Mr Binman, The Limerick Leader and Limerick’s Live 95FM and Every Can Counts will be there in support. Some new ECC members took part in the event and we were there to support them.
Commenting at the launch, Paul O’Connell said; “Our inaugural event was incredible with over 10,000 volunteers taking part. Next year we hope to get more sports clubs and schools involved so the whole concept of keeping your locality tidy starts at a grass roots level upwards. We all know that general litter waste in our city and county is an on-going issue, so we asked volunteers to come out again on Good Friday and enjoy the morning picking, sweeping and clearing their areas – essentially it was easy and a bit of fun!”
Sue Ann Foley, Chairperson of the JP McManus Benevolent Fund said; “We are delighted that TLC2 took place again this year. This is a great initiative in which communities throughout the whole of Limerick can participate across all generations to help make our county a cleaner place. I would like to acknowledge the tremendous support which Limerick City and County Council provides TLC2, along with our partners Mr Binman, The Limerick Leader and Limerick’s Live 95FM.”
